Irene Tan is Assistant General Counsel of the Commercial Insurance Products legal team at AIG where she advises on product development, marketing, and distribution issues. She is also a member of the Legal Innovation Hub. Prior to joining AIG, Irene was Vice President at a boutique consulting firm where she advised alternative asset management firms on regulatory, governance, and compliance issues.
Irene is a Director on the Board of the Asian American Bar Association of New York (“AABANY”) and previously served as Membership Secretary and co-chair of various committees. She also serves on the Associate Board for Apex for Youth and the Executive Council for the Network of Bar Leaders. She is the Vice President of Strategic Development and Marketing for the Don H. Liu Scholars Program.
Irene graduated from Cornell University with a B.S. in Policy Analysis & Management. She received her J.D. from Brooklyn Law School with a concentration in Business Law. While in law school, Irene served as the Executives Articles & Symposium Editor of The Journal of Law & Policy, and interned for the Honorable Ramon E. Reyes of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York.
