Megan Rha immigrated to the United States from South Korea when she was nine years old. Educated within the New York City public school system, she studied at Cornell University and received a bachelor’s degree in History. She proceeded to study law at St. John’s University School of Law as a full merit scholarship recipient.
After law school, she practiced law for many years as an Assistant District Attorney for Nassau County and prosecuted a wide array of criminal cases, including charges related to sex offenses, the sale of narcotics, burglary, robbery, assault, fraud, and identity theft.
She met Jenny Kim as a colleague in the Nassau County District Attorney’s Office and founded RHA & KIM, LLP in Bayside, Queens more than 10 years ago. The firm has steadily grown to now include five full-time attorneys. In between practicing law in the government sector and starting her own practice, Ms. Rha also practiced civil litigation and regulatory law in New York and in Washington, D.C. as part of mid-sized and large law firms.
Ms. Rha and the firm represent individuals and business organizations in state and federal courts, as well as before administrative bodies, in civil and criminal proceedings, and trials. Ms. Rha believes in a team approach to all cases, regardless of the size of the case, and implements this approach in the firm’s cases. She models her professional approach on one of her heroes and fellow attorneys, Abraham Lincoln.
In addition to practicing law, Ms. Rha volunteers her time serving on the boards of many non-profit organizations and educational entities, teaching and training in legal and non-legal subject areas, and attending many, many amateur and scholastic sporting events with her five children. In her next life, Ms. Rha hopes to work for ESPN or the NBA.
