Spencer M. Ware is a business leader with over 15 years of experience in developing comprehensive business solutions in retail restructurings and reorganizations both in and out of distress. Spencer’s retail experience spans a wide range of clients including apparel, big box retail, consumer goods, grocery, restaurants, jewelry, luxury apparel, payday lending, and specialty retail. Representing and building consensus between diverse key stakeholder groups Spencer focuses on liquidity, business planning, bankruptcy tactics, and operational improvements. Recent 2017 engagements have included serving as Chief Restructuring Officer of Eastern Mountain Sports and Bob’s Stores, and advisor to The Gymboree Corporation in their chapter 11 restructuring.
He holds a BA in economics from Haverford College and attended the London School of Economics. Spencer has served in a number of industry and non-profit leadership positions ranging from Haverford’s Alumni Association President to Global Trustee for the Turnaround Management Association. He is a regular speaker and author, is frequently quoted on the topic of corporate restructuring, and was awarded the Future Leader of the Year Award by the New York Institute of Credit.
